MISSISSAUGA, ON — [October 14, 2025]— Canadian Analytical Laboratories (CAL) is proud to announce the successful expansion of its ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation to include the analytical testing of alcoholic beverages, such as beer, wine, and cider. This significant milestone reflects CAL’s ongoing commitment to quality, precision, and compliance as it supports Canada’s growing beverage industry.
Building on its established reputation in cannabis, pharmaceuticals and natural health products, and nutritional supplement testing, CAL now offers fully accredited testing services tailored to the unique needs of alcohol manufacturers, importers, and distributors. The expanded scope enables CAL to provide accurate, reproducible, and regulatory-compliant results for critical parameters required by the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO), as well as other provincial regulatory bodies across British Columbia, Alberta, Quebec and other provinces.
“This expansion represents a natural progression of CAL’s dedication to scientific excellence and public safety,” said Dr. Christian Sood, CEO at Canadian Analytical Laboratories. “Alcoholic beverages are among the oldest and most complex consumer products, and we are proud to support producers through rigorous testing that ensures consistency, purity, and compliance.”
Comprehensive Analytical Testing for Alcoholic Beverages
With this new accreditation, CAL is equipped to perform a complete suite of validated analytical tests aligned with LCBO and Health Canada standards, including:
- Alcohol by Volume (ABV) verification
- pH and acidity profiling
- Residual sugar content
- Specific gravity and extract analysis
- Microbiological contamination screening
- Heavy metals, sulphites, and allergen analysis
All testing is conducted under the ISO 17025 quality management framework, ensuring traceable, scientifically defensible results accepted by regulatory agencies and trade partners across Canada.
Supporting Canada’s Beverage Industry Coast to Coast
CAL’s expanded testing capabilities position the laboratory as a trusted partner for beverage producers nationwide, from craft breweries and boutique wineries to importers and multinational beverage corporations.
The laboratory’s Mississauga-based facility provides rapid turnaround times, expert regulatory support, and personalized client service — ensuring that every product entering the market meets both provincial and federal compliance requirements.
“Whether it’s a small-batch cider or a large-scale brewery production, our clients can now rely on CAL for comprehensive analytical data that ensures consumer safety and brand integrity,” added Snehal Patel, Chief Operating Officer. “We see this expansion as an investment in Canada’s vibrant beverage ecosystem.”
