CAL conducts comprehensive food and additive safety testing using official methods for both suitability and compliance with nutritional labeling required for Nutritional Analysis.

Food analysis covers the determination of toxic metals, artificial colouring, flavouring, preservatives, pesticide residue and microbial contamination.

We test for set of indicator organisms as mandated by Health Canada. Each product, prior to release for sale, is tested for Total Aerobic Bacterial counts, e. Coli, Salmonella, Pseudomonas, Staphylococcus, Yeast and Mold.

Beyond indicator organisms, our analytical microbiology department enumerates many strains of bacteria.
